Nihon Kolmar Group Charter of Corporate Behavior

For playing a leading role to achieve a sustainable society, on the basis of fair and free competition, and through creation of value and employment for our society and self-disciplined and responsible actions, we are commited to social responsibility based on the following principles with our high ethical standard and compliance with applicable local laws, regulations and international rules.
I. Responsibility towards society
- 1. Sustainable economic growth and solutions for social issues
- We develop and provide socially beneficial and safe goods and services through innovation, and strive for sustainable economic growth and the resolution of social issues. For creating our innovation, we make appropriate use of intellectual property and personal information while protecting them in a proper manner.
- 2. Respect for human rights
- We understand and respect for internationally agreed human rights and avoid discrimination or any other forms of violation of human rights. We prohibit forced labor and child labor and conduct business that respects the human rights of all persons.
- 3. Actions towards environmental issues
- We realize that environmental protection is the common challenges facing humanity and proactively initiate measures in acknowledgment of environmental issues and their importance to a corporation’s operation and persistence.
- 4. Involvement in community and contribution to its development
- We are actively engaged in community involvement activities and contribute to community development as a good corporate citizen.
II. Relationship to stakeholders
- 1. Fair business practices
- We are engaged in fair and free competition, appropriate transactions and responsible procurement. We do not give or accept entertainments, gifts or bribes to obtain or retain improper advantage or preferential treatment.
- 2. Fair disclosure of information and constructive dialogue with stakeholders
- We disclose corporate information effectively and fairly and are engaged in constructive dialogue with a wide range of stakeholders, with a purpose of enhancing corporate value.
- 3. Trust in a relationship with customers
- We provide customers with appropriate information about goods and services, communicate with them in good faith, and earn their satisfaction and trust.
- 4. Thorough crisis management
- We conduct thorough and organized crisis management in the face of actions by antisocial forces, terrorism, cyber attacks, natural disasters and other crises.
III. Relationship to employees
- 1. Enhancement of workplace environments
- We promote personnel management and remuneration that are free from discrimination or unreasonable differences in work hours or wages and realize work practices that improve the capability of employees and that respect their diversity, character, and personality. We also respect basic labor rights including the right to organize and bargain collectively and provides safe, healthy and comfortable working environments. Any forms of abuse, harassment or non-humanitarian treatment are strictly prohibited.
IV. Common in all sections
- 1. Role of top management and implementation of this Charter
- Our top management shall recognize that it is their role to realize the spirit of this Charter, establish governance structures to ensure the soundness, efficiency, and transparency of corporate management and strive to raise awareness of the Charter’s spirit within the corporation and the entire corporate group to achieve its full compliance. They shall also encourage companies in our supply chain to act in accordance with the spirit of the Charter of Corporate Behavior.
